Soviet realism and Montage

Pudovkin's concept of "constructive editing" clearly insisted that a new meaning and point would be made through a juxtaposition of different assembled shots giving a new feeling to the style of editing. Pudovkin developed a formalist form of editing which incorporated a more unified meaning of close ups within montages in an attempt to break the barrier of classical editing. Pudovkin had a goal of adding a whole new meaning to film doing this he felt films should show director's way of expressing their point of view in films
